Naming Days

Naming ceremonies are the best! Gathering friends and loved ones together to celebrate the arrival of a brand new person is simply lovely. After having my own little one I understand just how important it is to welcome your new family member, surrounded by the special people who will have an ongoing influence in their lives.

Delighted families want to shout their joy from the rooftops and I am here to make that happen. Everything is personalised to your family and together we create a relaxed atmosphere, full of love and laughter.

(Please note that Ellie only undertakes Naming Ceremonies on Saturdays and Sundays).

Naming Ceremonies

You can hold your ceremony at home, in a garden or at any venue of your choosing. I will work with you to create a ceremony which is personal to your family. I am more than happy to assist you with choosing readings, poetry and music, or can leave it completely up to you. The choice is yours.

Welcoming Ceremonies

A welcoming ceremony is the perfect way to formally welcome your adopted children or step-children into your family. There are a number of symbolic acts which can be included in the ceremony, should you wish, such as a sand ceremony (the blending of small glasses of sand into a larger vessel to symbolise unity) or the lighting of a unity candle.

Adults may wish to have a naming ceremony for many reasons. It can be a very empowering act for individuals who wish to mark a new stage of their life or celebrate a gender transition.
